From 1st February to 4th February, Braxted Park in Essex will be hosting a unique contemporary art show, featuring over fifty local and national artists, including many established and sought after names, alongside new and emerging talent.
Not only will attendees have the opportunity to view and purchase original art, sculpture, prints, glass, and ceramics, all proceeds will go directly to Home-Start Essex, a family support charity.
THE LOCATION
Set in 500 acres of parkland, this stately house is the largest walled private estate in the county, and the ideal backdrop for a magnificent contemporary art show. Braxted Park, the large Queen Anne house, sits at the end of a long sweeping drive which anticipates its glory and the artefacts on show. The art and sculpture will be professionally displayed and skilfully curated, all within the historic backdrop and original features of the Hall, Ballroom and Orangery.
A versatile venue, offering everything from nine-hole golf to weddings, this is the first time that the Clark family have opened their home to an art exhibition.
ARTISTS
With over fifty local and national artists being featured, there is bound to be a painting, sculpture or small ceramic that catches your eye.
Kate Rhodes, a Suffolk-based expressionist painter, is one of our particular favourites with a focus on landscapes and some glorious canvases highlighting a recent trip to Morocco. Although, we're equally fond of the sculptures that Lucy Lutyens creates on her farm and we previously saw on a visit to the Art For Cure exhibition at Helmingham Hall last year.
Some more names to look out for are Aly Brown, Anthony Turner, Cary Norman and Piers Jackson to say a few.
HOME-START ESSEX
Home-Start Essex is an independent, local, family support charity which is an affiliated member of Home-Start UK and part of the Home-Start Network. They have a team of trained volunteers and dedicated, experienced staff who support families with young children through challenging times, in order to give children, the best possible start in life. By supporting this exhibition, it will directly help a Home-Start Essex family.
POSTCARDS FOR HOME- START ESSEX
Alongside the art exhibition will also be a postcard raffle. Exhibiting artists, local celebrities and, importantly, children from Home-Start Essex Family Groups have painted or hand-drawn postcards that will be exhibited at the event on a Postcard Wall and entered into a raffle.
Buy a ticket and you might be lucky enough to win an original piece of art from a celebrity, an exhibiting artist or from a Home-Start child.
