Nestled amongst the serene setting of the Suffolk countryside, The Weeping Willow offers a picturesque escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The lodges promise a haven where guests can rejuvenate and reconnect with nature.
ARRIVAL
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly team who brought an immediate sense of comfort. The Weeping Willow recently built 7 beautiful lodges behind the restaurant and bar area, which really gives the feel of a hidden oasis and we soon got shown to our ‘Best’ lodge by a lovely team member who couldn’t be more attentive.
THE LODGES
The lodges themselves have been sympathetically created to fit in with the landscape. As you walk in, you are greeted with elegance, characterized by rustic details and a warm colour palette. The lodges provide lovely homely touches such as the Bramley toiletries that can be found throughout, as well as the paintings and paintbrushes on display. I really value a good night's sleep and to me personally, the comfort of the bed is really the main thing I consider when reviewing my stay. I had the most amazing night' s sleep! I found myself sinking into the luxurious bed dressed with premium linens, not wanting to get out of bed the next morning. I said to my partner that we need to find out the brand of bedding instantly so we can replicate the comfort we experienced!
FOOD & DRINK
We were booked in under the ‘Dinner, Bed and Breakfast’ option, so we dined in for our evening meal and the food was one of a kind. I opted for the chicken salad which tasted like it was made with the best quality ingredients, whilst my partner had their popular scotch egg, as well as the beef burger, to which he said he loved every bite. We ordered some of their juices to accompany the meal, and they were also divine.
The restaurant is really stunning. The atmosphere was buzzing and it felt like an experience in itself! We were also booked in for breakfast, where you can choose to have a continental, cooked breakfast, or anything in between - all of which sounded amazing. Me and my partner both opted for the ‘Full East Anglian Breakfast’ which was just as good as the food we had the night before. The food was locally sourced, and you can tell that they really value the quality of the produce used to create the dishes.
HOT TUBS
One of my favourite features of the whole experience was the wood-fired hot tub. They really added a luxury feel to the place. We grabbed a bottle of Prosecco and enjoyed the warmth of the hot tub late into the evening. It was a perfect way to finish the day! The next morning the hot tub was still the perfect temperature so we started our day off by enjoying the warmth and bubbles before hitting the road.
