Overlooking a pretty, leafy Georgian square in the bustling seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea, The Globe Inn is perfectly placed for an adventure on the beautiful North Norfolk coast.
Having just undergone an extensive refurbishment, The Globe has well and truly joined our Chestnut family with its relaxed atmosphere, ambient lighting and cosy feel.
Want a taster of what to expect? Take a look at the video below - filmed throughout our opening week, showcasing the pubs warm and friendly setting, all situated in the stunning location of Wells-next-the-Sea...
Inspired by the towns maritime charm, we have lovingly updated the pub decor and furnishings to reflect its coastal location and history. An eclectic mix of travel ephemera adorn the walls and the brickwork, and the beams are complimented with walnut timbers and brass and antique lighting. The pubs 19 bedrooms have also been given a make-over, using coastal inspired fabrics and soft pastels.
Whilst the building and decoration work have been taking place, The Globe's kitchen team have been busy building brand new menus, using locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, which is an integral part of our ethos and enables us to provide that all important local experience. From alfresco crab salads in the courtyard in the Summer months, to hearty mackerel and chips in front of the fire in winter.
Having acquired The Globe Inn in 2020, we have been waiting patiently to reinvent the look and feel of this much loved pub. We look forward to welcoming you through the doors, with our front of house family excited to finally be able to show off the new look!
“The Globe is a key part of the fabric of life in Wells and has a strong reputation as part of North Norfolk’s successful tourism scene. We therefore wanted to ensure we maintained the community feel of the Inn, while modernising and redeveloping the property to attract new guests to the area. We’re absolutely delighted with the outcome as we now have a restaurant that is perfect for friends and family after a day at the beach, while the restored bedrooms provide a relaxing and luxurious space for those wanting to extend their stay in Norfolk.”
- Philip Turner, Founder of Chestnut
