THINGS TO GIFT AND DO THIS VALENTINE'S

Celebrate your love for good food, endless adventures in the east of England, and being able to share it with the people who matter most.

While we're excited to be sharing our Valentine's Specials menus from Thursday 13th until Saturday 15th across all the pubs, we've also lined up some interesting things to do and gift in the region this Valentine's Day.

THINGS TO DO

Explore the Norfolk Broads by boat

Hire a day boat or take a guided tour of the Norfolk Broads. With migratory birds beginning to return this season, this is the perfect way to take in some wildlife while whiling away the hours on tranquil waters. Why not extend your visit with a night away at one of our coastal pubs?

Visit Cambridge for a punt

Chauffeured or self-punted (depending how much of a laugh you're after), there's never a better excuse than Valentine's to head along the River Cam in a punt. Wrap up warm and enjoy views of the colleges and bridges, and be sure to visit The Carpenters Arms for their colourful Afternoon Tea afterwards.

Sunset stroll along the Suffolk Coast

Wander along the Suffolk Coast Path at golden hour for big sky views and a chance to catch up on the day. Pair it with coastal favourites at The Ship, Dunwich, or head over the heath to The Westleton Crown.

Romantic Stay package

If you feel like making a night of it, our Romantic Stay package is just the thing. It includes dinner, a cosy room, some bubbles, and breakfast the next morning.

Time for tea

Afternoons were made for sandwiches, scones, and tea and cake!

There's something special about taking time out for this English tradition and The Maltings invites you to enjoy it in the main house or double height Grain Store.

Explore Sandringham Estate or Holkham Hall

Take a walk through the scenic grounds of these historic Norfolk estates. Perfect for those who enjoy taking their four-legged pal out for a long walk, Sandringham Estate is the country retreat for their majesties, while Holkham boasts the nature reserve and beach.

A day at the races

Get dressed up and have a flutter on the horses at Fakenham Racecourse. Their next meet is on Friday 14th February with the first set of races at 1.40pm, so be sure to stop by The Feathers, Holt, on your way home to celebrate your wins!

THINGS TO GIFT

Artisan chocolates

One never tires of receiving luxury chocolate - especially those made locally. Whether you're stopping by Hill St. Chocolates in Saffron Walden or heading into Hunters in Holt, our region has a great selection of chocolatiers.

Luxury hampers

Get crafty and fill a hamper with local goodies such as Fishers Gin, Baron Bigod and Tiptree preserve. Shops like Bakers & Larners or Snape Maltings can help you curate something special.

Art and ceramics

Pick up a one-of-a-kind piece of pottery, paint or print from East Anglia artists. Make Holt, Cambridge Contemporary Craft and independent shops in the Norwich Lanes are great places to browse for gifts.

Gift an experience

With an array of options to choose from, you can't go wrong with a Chestnut gift voucher. From a bottle of fizz or lunch to Dinner, Bed & Breakfast, there's a voucher for every occasion.

A bottle to share

Choose a fine bottle from a local vineyard, such as Flint near Bungay or Tuffon Hall. Or even head on a tour!

If wine isn't your drink of choice, The English Distillery in Norfolk is the first whisky distillery to have opened in England in over 100 years and another great place to visit.

Seasonal flowers

There's something about receiving a beautiful bouquet that never gets old! Choose from a local florist for the freshest bunch. There's many independents to choose from, but a couple of our favourites include The Flower Hut in Bury St Edmunds and The Wildwood Florist in Wells-next-the-Sea.
