Whether you're celebrating with your other half, friends, or just want an excuse to treat yourself to something delightful, we've compiled some of our favourite gifts and experiences to share this Valentine's Day.
LITTLE LUXURIES
Not all of us go into full-blown Valentine's mode, however, I know that you can't go far wrong with buying a beautiful bouquet or box of fancy chocolates for that special someone. The Flower Hut, based near The Weeping Willow, is an independent florist and plant shop that specialises in arrangements in a natural and sustainable style for all occasions. Another independent business, Bakers & Larners of Holt, which is situated in the centre of the quaint market town of Holt, has an abundance of luxury chocolates and other high quality treats that would make for an exciting edible gift. Whether it's simply a box of Charbonnel et Walker truffles (always on our wish-list) or one of their bespoke hampers, we certainly wouldn't turn our noses up!
Finally, a personalised gift is often something to be treasured forever. Maisie's Munch creates emotive sketches of food and drink items that are relatable to the person-in-question. Often quite humorous, one of the framed prints would look great hanging in your kitchen or Maisie also has some ready-to-buy prints and cards.
SOMETHING SMELLY

From the memory of a first date to a summer holiday, smellies often conjure memories or create new ones. So, why not gift your Valentine with a new scent to remind them of a special occasion. We're lucky to have Natural Living Norfolk, a plant based and non-toxic perfume and wellbeing brand, in our region that creates scents inspired by the scenic Norfolk coast. Their perfumes range from mini discovery sets to 100ml bottles, so one can discover their signature scent or pick and choose a few.
Perhaps a Bramley product would evoke memories from a special trip to ours? A brand originally created for their own pub, Bramley bath and body is the ideal range to capture the essence of the countryside for our own guests too. Their approach is sustainable and they contribute to charities; both reasons why we like to support this business. Treat your loved one to an at-home spa with some of the sumptuous Bramley products this Valentine's as a reminder of last-years Chestnut staycation.
TAKE IN A SHOW
Just a two minute stroll from our coastal pub, The Globe Inn, take in a show or film at Wells Maltings. This charitable organisation aims to bring art and heritage to the heart of the town and is a quaint setting for a date if you're spending the night by the coast.
A few other concert halls and theatres in our region include Snape Maltings near Aldeburgh, historic Abbeygate Cinema in Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge Arts Theatre.
STAY PACKAGES
From meandering along unspoilt beaches on the coast to trundling through the countryside with their four-legged friend, we have a Stay Package to suit any break away.
A dinner for two and restful night's sleep is a great start, but the indulgence doesn't end there with our Romantic Stay; a bottle of bubbly waits for you in your bedroom and you can treat yourself to a lie-in with our late checkout and then a cooked breakfast. TASTY TIPPLES AND TOURS
We're lucky to work with some great brands in our pubs; some are local, some are sustainable and we make sure that all have a positive message.
If you feel like gifting a drink or taking a bottle of something nice to your Galentine's date, Sea Change is an eco-friendly wine option who are 'passionate about two things: protecting our oceans and great tasting wine'. Their ethically sourced wines help fund conservation projects, which we are all-for and they have an abundance of varieties; white, red, alcohol-free, sparkling, rose etcetera.
Another drink brand, this time closer to home, is Fishers Gin, based on the Suffolk coast. Gin is packaged in gorgeous bottles that are ideal for gifting and even keeping as a memento once it's contents has been drunk, but not just this; their distillery in Aldeburgh is open for tours and tastings throughout the year. An immersive activity, this would be a fun way to spend a blustery Winter's day on the coast if they're enjoying a staycation nearby.
